About me...

Drawing with colored pencils is my passion. Doing art in many skills and capacities as well as writing a cookbook, "Pop It In The Toaster Oven," have been the inspiration of my long creative career. Let me give you some history.

Many years ago I earned a BFA from the Minneapolis College Of Art and Design (it was called the Minneapolis School Of Art then) and through a full-tuition grant to Pratt Institute in New York, earned an MFA degree. I've been working as an artist for over 60 years in many skills and disciplines including acrylic painting, oil painting, water color, raku pottery, quilting, assemblage, collage, drawing with pen and ink, pencils and colored pencils.

which avails free information-rich art instruction to anyone online. It has videos and step-by-step lessons I've created including painting, drawing, collage, and printmaking, as well as art resources like Art Therapy, Art Tours And Travel, Finding The Artist Within and The Artful Life Program.

has playlists of my over 400 art lesson and cooking demo videos, that are easily accessible to all.

I've shown in many galleries and exhibitions and my artwork is in over 60 private and corporate collections. I am grateful for the several galleries that represent me. Prices of my artwork are higher in the galleries and for good reason--they provide real traffic and beautiful physical space for exposure but have many overhead costs they have to address to be a sustainable business.

That said, within the past year I decided to set up an online art store for some of my drawings that are sold just matted, not framed or glassed to provide a more affordable venue for purchasing my work.

My larger drawings are wrapped in a protective sleeve and shipped in a mailing tube. In this way the price of the drawing is more affordable and the buyer can mat and frame the artwork to enhance the the room where the drawing will be placed.

My smaller drawings are matted with quality textured neutral mats and foam core backings, placed in a protective sleeve and shipped in a USPS priority envelope or box, depending on the size of the drawing.

My motivation for this website is similar to what made me create my Free Online Art Classes website many years ago. Art and art information should be available for all!
